ELFBAR is one of the best-known vape brands in Switzerland, and the range has grown broad over the years. From the small disposable stick to the refillable pod device, everything carries the same name, which doesn't exactly make the choice easier. This overview sorts the model classes and tells you which one suits your vaping habits.
Three device classes, one brand name
ELFBAR sells three fundamentally different kinds of device. The name doesn't yet tell you what you're holding:
- Disposable vapes (e.g. ELFBAR 600): pre-filled and ready to use, no charging, no swapping. Once used up, that's it, throw it away.
- Pod systems (ELFA Pro, ELFX): rechargeable device, you insert pre-filled pods and swap only those.
- Hybrid/Big-Puff (NX7000): rechargeable battery with a large, interchangeable refill tank, somewhere between the disposable feel and the pod system.
The models compared
| Model | Class | Battery | Replaceable part | For whom |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ELFBAR 600 | Disposable | fixed, non-chargeable | nothing | occasional, trying out, backup |
| ELFA Pro | Pod system | ~500 mAh, USB-C | pod | switchers, MTL fans |
| ELFX | Pod system | rechargeable | pod | anyone wanting more choice & battery |
| NX7000 | Hybrid/Big-Puff | rechargeable | refill tank | heavy vaping, long runtime |
All carry nicotine salt up to 20 mg/ml, the Swiss maximum. The difference isn't in the flavour, but in runtime, running costs and handling.
Recommendation by user type
You just want a quick try or a backup for your jacket pocket. Then an ELFBAR 600 is enough. No cable, no pod swap, just open and draw. Per puff, though, the disposable is the most expensive, and with the disposable vape ban in Switzerland drawing closer, a look at refillable devices is worthwhile anyway.
You're switching from smoking or vaping daily. Here a pod system is the sensible choice. The ELFA Pro Kit draws tight like a cigarette (MTL) and is small enough for your trouser pocket. Anyone wanting a bigger pod selection and a bit more battery goes for the ELFX Kit. Both pay off quickly: buy the device once, after that you only top up with pods.
You vape a lot and want to re-buy as rarely as possible. Then the NX7000 Kit is worth a look. The large refill tank lasts a long time, the battery is rechargeable, and the whole thing feels like a disposable vape, without its throwaway logic.
You already have an ELFA device. Then you don't need to buy anything new, just pods. If you're still after a kit: the classic ELFA Pro Kit in Aurora Pink Lemonade is a solid starting point.
Disposable or refillable, the honest answer
Disposables are convenient, but expensive, and produce electronic waste with every device. As soon as you vape regularly, a pod or hybrid system is almost always the better deal: less waste, lower cost per puff, same flavour. How the classes fundamentally differ is set out in the pod system guide, and which devices generally come out ahead in 2026 is shown in our overview of the best e-cigarette in Switzerland.
In short
- ELFBAR 600: disposable, for occasional use and backup, most expensive per puff.
- ELFA Pro / ELFX: pod systems, ideal for switchers and everyday use, cheap to re-buy.
- NX7000: hybrid with a large tank, for heavy users wanting long runtime.
- When in doubt, refillable over disposable: less electronic waste, lower running costs.
Many products contain nicotine (up to 20 mg/ml); nicotine is highly addictive. Sale only to adults aged 18 and over. Non-smokers should not start vaping.
