IQOS ILUMA i or i ONE: which device is right for you?

The IQOS ILUMA i is the premium model with a touchscreen and pause function. The ILUMA i ONE is the compact device for on the go, without a separate charging case. Both use the same TEREA sticks and the same induction technology. The choice depends on how and where you use the device.

IQOS ILUMA i: Display and controls
The ILUMA i is the device for anyone who likes to see what’s going on. The touchscreen shows you the heating status, the remaining usage time and how many sessions are left in the battery.
Pause Mode is the most important extra feature. You can pause a session for up to 8 minutes and then pick up where you left off. It works in Performance Mode during the first 3 minutes or 8 puffs. It can be used during one of two consecutive sessions.
FlexBattery conserves the battery. According to the manufacturer, using Eco Mode continuously will extend the battery’s lifespan.
The ILUMA i consists of two parts: you pull out the holder and recharge it in the case.
IQOS ILUMA i ONE: all-in-one
The ILUMA i ONE does not require a charging case. The holder and battery are a single device that fits in any trouser pocket.
According to the manufacturer, it can manage up to 20 sessions in a row on a single battery charge. That’s enough for a normal day. With Auto Start, it detects the inserted stick and starts heating up automatically.
The i ONE does not have a touchscreen or Pause Mode. FlexPuff is included: the device adjusts the number of puffs per session to suit your puffing behaviour.
Similarities: Induction and TEREA
Both models use the SMARTCORE INDUCTION SYSTEM for heating. Inside the TEREA stick is a metal element that is heated by a magnetic field. There is no blade that can break or become dirty. You don’t need to clean it as you did with the old IQOS models.

Which ILUMA device is right for you?
- You want convenience and a display: ILUMA i. The Pause Mode comes in handy if you’re often interrupted.
- You want something small and simple: ILUMA i ONE. One device, no case, auto-start.
- You don’t want tobacco in the stick: Then the REJO HS40 with TOZE herbal sticks is an alternative. TOZE contains no tobacco, but 2% nicotine.
