How Much Does Vaping Cost in Switzerland? Vape vs Cigarettes Compared

"How much does an e-cigarette actually cost per month?" The short answer: considerably less than smoking, and with the right system you save a lot more again. Here's the honest comparison for Switzerland.
Cigarettes: the expensive benchmark
A pack costs around CHF 9 in Switzerland. Anyone smoking a pack a day pays close to CHF 270 a month, over CHF 3'000 a year. That's the benchmark.
Disposable vape: cheaper, but not the cheapest
A disposable vape (e.g. 600 puffs) costs a few francs and roughly replaces one pack. With a disposable every one to two days you quickly reach CHF 80 to 150 a month. Cheaper than smoking, but throwaway, and soon banned in Switzerland.
Pod system: the money-saving option
A pod system costs a one-off amount (device from around CHF 15 to 30), after which you only pay for pods or liquid:
- Prefilled pods: a few francs per pod, each replaces about one pack.
- Self-refill: the cheapest, often just a few centimes per "pack equivalent".
